🤍 A Candle Care Guide: Creating the Perfect Burn
There’s something special about lighting a candle at the end of a long day.
It’s not just the scent or the glow—it’s the feeling it creates.
At Chicks & Wicks, every candle is hand-poured with intention, made to bring a sense of calm into your everyday spaces. And with just a little care, your candle will burn beautifully from the first light to the very last.
✂️ Trim Your Wick
Before each burn, trim your wick to about ¼ inch.
This helps create a steady flame, prevents excess smoke, and keeps your candle burning clean.
🔥 Let the Wax Melt Evenly
The first burn matters most.
Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar to prevent tunneling and ensure an even burn every time after.
⏳ Don’t Rush the Burn
Burn your candle for 2–4 hours at a time.
This gives the wax enough time to fully melt without overheating the jar.
🌬️ Avoid Drafts
Keep your candle away from fans, vents, or open windows.
A steady flame means a cleaner, longer-lasting burn.
🕯️ A Note on Natural Wax
Because our candles are made with natural soy wax and clean fragrance oils, you may notice slight variations as your candle burns. This can include subtle changes in appearance or a light film on the inside of the jar. These are normal characteristics of natural candles and do not affect performance.
🤍 Creating the Moment
Candle care isn’t just about maintenance—it’s about slowing down.
Lighting a candle is a small ritual. A way to reset, to soften the noise of the day, and to create space for yourself.
Whether your home feels perfectly put together or a little lived in, there’s always room for a quiet moment and a soft glow.
For the moments that matter most.
